Job Title: Air Conditioning Engineer

Full Time & Permanent Position

Salary: Up to £42,000.00 per annum, plus Company Vehicle + fuel card, Pension, 33 days holiday (including bank holidays)

OTE: £50,000.00+

Location: Edinburgh & Occasionally Glasgow

Hours: Monday to Friday- 40 hours per week

On Call: 1 in 12 | £120.00 per week standby allowance

We are advertising this Air Conditioning Engineer role on behalf of our client, a national leader in the FM and M&E space. As a result of commercial growth, they are looking to hire an experienced Air Conditioning Engineer to work across commercial retail, student accommodation, offices and plant.

Job Purpose:

The purpose of the role is to effectively carry out the service, maintenance, repair and installation of commercial refrigeration, air conditioning and HVAC systems across a varied client portfolio. The role will ensure all equipment is maintained to the highest standards of safety, compliance and operational efficiency whilst delivering excellent customer service.

Role Responsibilities

• Design & installation, after care service and maintenance of commercial refrigeration and air conditioning systems carrying out the service and maintenance of a multitude of equipment ranging from commercial equipment including cold rooms, ice machines, VRV & VRF Indoor and Outdoor Units, Heat Recovery Units, leak testing systems etc.
• Maintenance, repairs and all general Air Conditioning duties, including being able to assist with mechanical & plumbing works if required on site.
• Experience in Air Source Heat Pumps would be desirable and additional training on this can be provided.
• Health and safety awareness.
• Candidate who can assist with electrical PPM tasks including emergency lighting tests and small repairs would be desirable.

Skills / Background / Qualifications:

• City & Guilds Level 2 (minimum) City & Guilds Level 3 in Refrigeration/Air Conditioning (preferred) F-Gas Certificate (C&G 2079 or CITB J11)
• 18th Edition Accreditation is an also preferred for this candidate.
• A minimum of 5 years relevant experience.
• Knowledge and experience of all air conditioning and electrical plant including, but not limited to Air Handling Units and their associated controls, pumps, heat exchangers, boiler plant (excluding gas side pipe work and accessories)
• Knowledge and experience of BMS control systems.
• Knowledge and experience of all air conditioning and HVAC installations, including issuing written compliance paperwork.
• To maintain on site log books, permits & site paperwork insuring they are completed and up to date.
• Must be competent in working on CAFM system and using tablet for logging on to jobs and completing compliance paperwork.
• The Air Conditioning engineer will be working as part of a mobile team, our client is looking for someone who is flexible, works well as part of a team and is client focussed

Experience in refrigeration / air conditioning maintenance and repair is essential for this role.

Experience providing assistance with HVAC equipment will be advantageous for this role.

CO2 training is desirable but not essential as the right candidate will be provided with this as well as Care Gas, SPA and any other relevant courses that are relevant to the role.
